We currently operate a biannual grant-making process, accepting large grant applications in Spring, and small grant applications in the Autumn of each year.
Our 2025 small grants programme will open Monday 8th September 2025. The closing date for applications for small grants is 9th October 2025 by 5pm. Unfortunately late applications cannot be considered. Small grant applicants will know the trustees decision by 19th December 2025.
There are two types of grants that CPT offer:
1) Large Grants Programme (£5,001- £60,000): Grants awarded are typically around £30,000 - £50,000, to be spent within two years. However, for exceptional projects the Trust may, at the trustees discretion, consider high er levels of funding for up to £60,000. A full online application form with supporting documentation must be completed for this type of grant.
2) Small Grants Programme (£1,000-£5,000): Grants awarded are typically around £3,000 to £5,000 and are designed to support highly localised projects at parish or local levels. All projects should be completed within one year. To be eligible for a small grant an organization must have an annual turnover of less than £100,000[1] and be a legally registered charity. A condensed online application form must be completed for this type of grant and an external reference is required.

Our Autumn 2025 small grants round is currently open.
The online application form for proposals will be live until 9th October 2025 and will close for applications at 5pm that day.
All grant applicants will know the outcome of their application by 19th December 2025.
Those who secure funding from us will be asked to attend our awards ceremony on 23rd or 24th June 2026 tbc. Please put those dates in your diary now.
Best of luck with your applications to us.
Previous unsuccessful applicants are welcome to submit a new application to us.
It is possible for a small charity to apply for both a small and large grant. However, please note that charities with an annual turnover over £100,000 are only eligible to apply for a large grant with us.
All applications for either large or small grants are made online using the application form below. The blank application form shows all the questions we will ask.
Unfortunately, applications cannot be saved online to return to later, so we advise that all applicants have all the information they need in advance and available to be able to complete the online form in one sitting. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please also note that if you are applying for a small grant, then some of the questions will be inactive on the application form as we require less information for small grant requests. However, all questions must be answered if you are applying for a large grant.
In addition, the latest set of your charity’s annual accounts should also be uploaded with your completed application form, along with a project budget and a copy of the charity’s safeguarding policy.
Please do not attach any other additional digital media files such as film, still images or audio.
One external referee paragraph of support is needed for applicants seeking a small grant.”
If you would like to prepare your application form answers, please see the templated document below.
