£5k grants available to respond to the ‘signs of the times’ to build social justice in the UK.

Bishop Richard Moth, chair of Catholic grant-making charity, The CharlesPlater Trust (CPT), announced the opening of the funder’s 2025 small grantsprogramme earlier today.

Opening the grant funding opportunity, Bishop Richard Moth said:

“We face profound social justice challenges as a society today. Markingthe papacy of Pope Leo XIV and, also, with a relatively new government in placein this country, it is timely to offer a new funding opportunity to charitypartners to pioneer new ways in which Catholic social teaching in action cancontribute to a new vision for our society, where all belong and can flourish. “

CPT launched its small grants programme in2021, and funds projects that contribute to social justice through education in its broadest sense.

Charities and CICs with an annual income below £100,000 are eligible to apply for a small grant of up to £5,000 on the Charles Plater Trust website. The closing date for applications is 5pm on Thursday 9th October 2025.
