The Charles Plater Trust (CPT) has today launched it’s 2026 large grants programme with £385,000 available in large grants to shine a light for social justice in England and Wales this year.
Inspired by Pope Leo’s XIV’s renewal of the Church's commitment to Catholic Social Teaching (CST), the CPT invites project proposals that emphasise human dignity, solidarity, and the common good against modern challenges. Projects addressing social inequalities, advocating for environmental care, defending immigrant rights, and promoting a"missionary" Church are especially welcome in this year’s funding round.
Philomena Cullen, Trust manager said:
“In these dark times, CST can be a light that the darkness cannot extinguish. Once again, we are calling for charity partners to come forward to work with us to illuminate bright new ways forward, so that light is shone in the densest, and most menacing corners of our society.”
